Job summary

Lofton Staffing is seeking a second shift CNC Machinist for a client in South Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will independently set up and operate CNC lathes, maintain tight tolerances, and work with stainless steel.

You will read blueprints, edit programs as needed, and inspect parts with precision tools, keeping tolerances to .0005". Experience with Fanuc controls and live tooling is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of CNC machining experience preferred.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes.
• Experience with Fanuc controls.
• Ability to hold tolerances within .0005 inches.
• Experience cutting stainless steel and grooving operations.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and a team mindset.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC lathes independently, with no dedicated setup personnel.
• Install jaws, cut jaws, and install tooling; touch off tools.
• Edit CNC programs as needed and machine to specs.
• Operate lathes to produce precision parts.
• Maintain tolerances within .0005 inches as required.
• Inspect finished parts with precision measuring tools.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and report issues promptly.

Lofton Staffing is currently hiring an experienced second shift CNC Machinist for a client in South Houston, TX. This position is ideal for a skilled machinist who can independently set up and operate CNC lathes, maintain tight tolerances, and work with stainless steel.

Pay: $24–$35 per hour, based on experience and ability

Job Responsibilities

• Set up CNC lathes independently, as there are no dedicated setup men.
• Install and set jaws according to job requirements.
• Cut jaws as required for the job.
• Install tooling and touch off tools.
• Edit CNC programs as needed.
• Operate CNC lathes to produce precision parts according to specifications.
• Maintain tolerances within .0005" when required.
• Use Fanuc controls.
• Machine stainless steel and other materials.
• Perform face grooving and ID grooving operations.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools.
• Make machine, tooling, and offset adjustments as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Requirements

• 2 or more years of CNC machining experience preferred.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes.
• Experience with Fanuc controls.
• Ability to hold tolerances within .0005".
• Experience cutting stainless steel.
• Experience with face grooving and ID grooving.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision.
• Dependable and able to work as part of a team.

Preferred Experience

• Experience operating CNC lathes with live tooling is a plus.
• Experience with CNC setup, tooling, offsets, and program editing is preferred.
