Job summary

TurbineAero is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Operator to perform lathe machining with minimal supervision at our Tempe facility. You will read drawings, set up parts, select tooling, and inspect in-process to ensure conformance with blueprints and work instructions.

Qualifications include the ability to stand for extended periods, familiarity with precision measuring tools, and at least 3 years of experience with similar equipment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and work instructions.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools.
• Ability to maintain tolerances of .0005 inch.
• Basic math skills.
• Proficient with hand tools.
• Effective communication skills.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience involving similar equipment, processes, measuring tools and machining operations.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and router instruction.
• Setup and machine parts to blueprints and/or work instructions.
• Select appropriate tooling.
• Act as in-process inspector where required.
• Generate Non-conforming Material Reports as needed.
• Troubleshoot technical issues in repair process.
• Identify necessary modifications to operator instruction sheets and communicate to Engineering.
• Monitor consumable supply levels and communicate shortages.
• Cross train in other areas of machine shop.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Communicate issues to supervisor.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on CNC Lathe.
• Observe safety guidelines and wear and maintain PPE when necessary.
• Other duties may be assigned.
