Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in machining is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a lathe operator, preferably in aviation/aerospace.
• Strong knowledge of lathe operation, CNC programming, and machining techniques.
• Experience working with aviation-grade materials such as aluminum, steel, and titanium.
• Familiarity with safety standards and best practices related to lathe operation in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up CNC and manual lathe machines to produce high-precision aviation components, parts, and tools.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine part specifications and machining operations.
• Perform turning, threading, and other lathe operations on metals including aluminum, titanium, and steel.
• Ensure parts meet precise tolerances and quality standards in compliance with aviation regulations.
• Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of lathe machines to ensure efficient operation.
• Use precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to inspect finished parts.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and proper storage of tools and equipment.
• Document work performed, including inspection results, material consumption, and machine settings.
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and team members to resolve manufacturing or design issues.
