Position Summary

Mill Creek Machining (MCM) is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist for our Spencer, IA location. The CNC Lathe Machinist is responsible for producing quality parts on our Doosan, Takamaz, and Mazak lathes. *This position offers overtime and a schedule of Monday through Thursday, from 4:50 pm to 3:50 am. The pay range is $19.00 - $26.00/hr., depending on experience. An additional $3.00 per hour is added for night shift work. A weekly attendance bonus of $44.00 is awarded when all scheduled hours are worked.*

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Verifies cycle times on all jobs and reports discrepancies to the crew chief, annotating on the traveler.
• Verifies and sets gauging against known standards, ensuring correctness per inspection sheet.
• Ensures all safety devices are in place and functioning properly.
• Inspects the machine and work area for proper order and operation.
• Operates machinery according to safe practices.
• Makes routine offsets and assesses the need for changing inserts, capable of doing so as needed.
• Changes work holding fixtures and tooling as instructed by the crew chief.
• Assists in setup preparation and execution under supervision.
• Performs all duties of a trainee and completes tasks as assigned by management.

Experience, Qualifications, and Skills

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to apply basic math concepts.
• Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Capable of producing precise work.
