Job summary

FM Industries in Livermore, CA is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist 2 for a weekend schedule Fri-Sun, 4:00am–4:30pm with a 15% shift differential. The role requires setting up and running complex parts with minimal supervision and contributing to new process development.

Responsibilities include programming, reading blueprints, and performing first-piece inspections. Candidates should have vocational education or an apprenticeship and 3–5 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of vocational education or four years formal apprenticeship preferred.
• Completion of Machine Tool Technology program preferred.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years' work-related experience

Responsibilities

• Set up and run the most complex parts with little supervision; assist in developing new processes.
• Ensure tooling and fixtures in the CNC area are designed cost-effectively and procured to support deliveries/budgets.
• Manually program machines using CNC controls.
• Read blueprints, tooling instructions, and charts for specifications.
• Perform first piece inspection and assist in development of check sheets.
