Job summary

Qualifications

  • Read and understand process documentation to produce complex parts.
  • Set up and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machinery independently.
  • Inspect finished work with OD/ID gauges, micrometers and height stands.
  • Maintain TPM practices and good housekeeping.
  • Follow safety rules and use PPE as required.
  • Collaborate with team on process improvements and cost savings.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.

Position Summary

The CNC Machinist will independently and safely set up and operate 3, 4, and 5 axis equipment.

Essential Functions
  • Read and understand process travelers, setup journals, tooling sheets and operation sheets to produce complex finished product.
  • Make tooling adjustments and program offsets as necessary.
  • Ability to accurately inspect work utilizing various instruments, including OD & ID indicating gauging, indicators, micrometers, height stands and verniers.
  • Perform daily TPM responsibilities.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in work area. Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations. Wear necessary personal protective equipment as required.
  • Actively participate in cross-training, cost savings and team activities to improve processes.
  • Maintain appropriate tact and diplomacy in dealings with co-workers, team members and supervisors.

Experience and Education
  • Minimum of 3 years of aerospace CNC machining experience is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Degree/certificate from vocation school or college program is a plus, but extensive experience may substitute for education.
Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
