Roles and Responsibilities
- Set‑up & operate CNC mills and/or lathes.
- Work with materials such as castings, forgings, screw machine blanks, turret lathe blanks, sawed blanks, and bar stock.
- Change chuck jaws, tool holders, fixtures, boring bars, drills, reamers, and set tools.
- Program CNC machines and make offset adjustments to ensure acceptable parts.
- Operate Auto Lathes, Vertical Boring Mills, and Broach Verticals.
- Follow Lean Manufacturing guidelines: one‑piece flow, standard work, 6S, set‑up reduction, and wet process lines.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards, clean chips, keep coolant/machine fluids off the shop floor, and keep the work area organized.
- Make decisions based on experience and available data.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 6months of machining experience with CNC lathes and/or mills.
- Successful completion of classes in geometric tolerancing.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Ability to lift, move and manipulate fixtures and component hardware up to 25lb.
- Eligibility restricted to U.S. Persons (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or other protected individuals). Proof of status required.
- Minimum age of 18 years at time of joining.
Desired Characteristics
- Verify and inspect own work using micrometers, plug gages, height gages, and surface plates.
- Run both CNC and manual equipment concurrently as required.
- Work effectively in a cellular, team‑oriented environment.
- Work under general direction with minimal supervision.
- Maintain excellent attendance history.
- Produce error‑free products.
- Accurately complete paperwork.
- Strive to meet or exceed job requirements.
- Experience machining high‑temperature materials (inconel, stainless, titanium, etc.).
- Operate coordinate‑metering machines (CMM).
- Use Lean Manufacturing principles in a team environment.
- Machine to aerospace standards and specifications.
- Follow written instruction precisely (MOS, routers, engineering drawings).
- Operate multiple machines and load offsets.
- Program edits and use optical comparators.
Compensation
Pay: $25.50 per hour.
