Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist in Lake Mills, WI to setup and operate Swiss-style and multi-axis turning centers, producing tight-tolerance components. You will troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and ensure first-pass quality in a clean, organized shop environment.

The role features four 10-hour shifts with three-day weekends, competitive hourly pay, and comprehensive benefits. Prior experience with CNC lathe operations and GD&T is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of CNC machining experience.
• Ability to independently set up and operate CNC lathes.
• Experience with Swiss lathes, twin-spindle, twin-turret, or multi-axis turning centers.
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.
• Experience with tight-tolerance precision machining.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent CNC lathe setups, changeovers, and program prove-outs.
• Modify CNC programs, adjust tooling offsets, and establish work coordinates.
• Identify and correct dimensional variations and machining problems.
• Select appropriate tooling and optimize cutting parameters.
• Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Monitor machining operations and maintain consistent part quality.
• Complete production documentation and perform routine equipment maintenance.

Looking for a machining opportunity where your setup skills and technical experience are put to good use? We're hiring an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join a growing precision manufacturing team specializing in complex, tight-tolerance components.

You’ll work with advanced CNC turning equipment, including Swiss-style lathes, twin-spindle, and twin-turret machines. CNC Lathe Machinist Benefits and Compensation:

• $24–$39/hour, depending on experience

CNC Lathe Machinist Requirements & Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of CNC machining experience
• Proven ability to independently set up and operate CNC lathes
• Experience with Swiss lathes, twin-spindle, twin-turret, or multi-axis turning centers
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T
• Experience with tight-tolerance precision machining
• Knowledge of cutting tools, workholding, feeds, and speeds
• Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments

Must Haves:

CNC Lathe Machinist Preferred Background & Skills:

• Swiss lathe machining experience strongly preferred

• Medical device or aerospace precision machining background
• Familiarity with Mastercam or Esprit programming software
• Experience with JobBOSS, Epicor, or similar ERP systems
• Experience operating CMMs and advanced inspection equipment
• Background in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a continuous improvement mindset
