We’re looking for an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality parts. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll be responsible for setting up and operating the lathe, making adjustments as needed, and ensuring parts meet exact specifications.
What You’ll Do
- Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce precision parts.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and machining specifications.
- Complete your own setups, including tool touch‑offs, program selection, and offset adjustments.
- Machine parts to tight tolerances, including ±0.0005" when required.
- Select and work with a variety of cutting tools, including turning tools, boring bars, thread tools, and ID/OD tooling.
- Bore your own soft jaws and prepare machines for production.
- Use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial/drop indicators, gauges, and pitch micrometers.
- Perform in‑process inspections and final inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Deburr and finish parts using appropriate shop equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and minimize scrap by catching issues early.
- Provide and maintain the personal machining tools needed to perform the job effectively.
What We’re Looking For
Technical Skills
- Experience operating and setting up CNC lathes.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tolerances, and shop terminology.
- Comfortable using precision measurement equipment.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks, Fusion, or similar CAD software is a plus.
- Programming or manufacturing engineering experience is a plus.
