CNC Lathe Machinist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Write and edit CNC machine programs directly on machines as well as offline.
- Design and construct basic fixtures for various machining operations.
- Interpret blueprints, job travelers, and work instructions accurately to align with production specifications.
- Set up machines in accordance with detailed prints and specifications ensuring optimal operation.
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines as per the prescribed instructions.
- Utilize mathematical skills and measuring instruments to calculate and adhere to desired dimensions and tolerances.
- Identify and rectify malfunctions or deviations in machine operations to ensure quality control standards are met.
- Conduct regular inspections and measurements on completed units to detect and address defects or discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area while ensuring all machinery is routinely maintained.
- Handle material safely using appropriate equipment such as cranes and carts, adhering strictly to company safety rules.
- Prepare routine reports detailing work orders, production quantities, and quality assessments.
- Undertake additional responsibilities and training as assigned to promote continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate degree in Manufacturing/Technical Programming, completion of a machinist apprenticeship program, or suitable company-provided training.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a fully operational machinist role.
- Profound knowledge of CNC machine operation, setup, and maintenance procedures.
- Advanced ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in programming and operating CNC Lathe machines specifically.
- Demonstrable experience with GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Effective problem-solving skills related to machine operation and maintenance.
