About the Job:

CNC Lathe Machinist

We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist prepared to take on the challenge of joining our dynamic production team. In this role, you'll be primarily responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines, carrying out complex inspection procedures to ensure adherence to quality standards, and participating in machine maintenance. Your expertise will directly contribute to enhancing production efficiency and improving product quality. As a seasoned machinist, you will also assist in training and mentoring junior team members, fostering a collaborative team environment.

Compensation: $27.00

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs machine setup to prepare for operation in accordance with production schedules.
  • Carries out first article inspection to ensure machining processes meet required specifications.
  • Performs necessary machine maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Assists in training and provides guidance to other machinists, enhancing team competence.
  • Ensures adherence to production priorities and schedules to maximize productivity.
  • Identifies and communicates technical issues, production bottlenecks, and quality discrepancies to management.
  • Utilizes precision measurement tools such as microscopes, calipers, and micrometers to verify the quality of machined components.
  • Ensures all related paperwork is accurate and complete for quality assurance purposes.
  • Suggests continuous improvement opportunities for production processes and quality enhancements.
  • Participates actively in team discussions and problem resolution processes.
  • Name and coordinate improvements to optimize production workflows.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace in compliance with company safety policies.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience in the field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a CNC machining environment.
  • Strong ability to read, write, and effectively communicate with team members.
  • Adept at following complex directions and executing intricate tasks precisely.
  • Exceptional hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience specifically with CNC Lathe machines; however, Milling experience is also considered.
  • Proficiency with MasterCam software is highly desirable.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of CNC machinery.
  • Familiarity with using inspection devices and tools such as optical comparators and weights.
  • Ability to mentor and uplift skills of junior machinists.
