Job summary

Ultimate Staffing Services, on behalf of a Fraser-based aerospace manufacturer in Michigan, is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist. Direct-hire roles on 1st/2nd shifts with overtime opportunities and normal hours around 5:30pm–5:30am or 6am–5:30pm. Expect to work 50–55 hours per week.

Candidates should have 4–5 years of precision CNC machining experience, with strong blueprint reading and CNC programming skills, and familiarity with Fanuc/Okuma controls. This is a direct-hire position, not contract.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of experience in precision CNC machining, aerospace/defense or related industries with tight tolerances preferred.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, job orders, and tooling instructions.
• Strong understanding of CNC programming and machining processes.
• Familiarity with Fanuc Oi, Fanuc 21i, Haas, and Okuma controls is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate CNC lathes to produce parts of varying complexity.
• Interpret setup sheets and blueprints to determine tooling, feeds, speeds, and sequences.
• Use micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges to inspect dimensions.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and monitor tool wear; replace tools as needed.
• Make offset adjustments to maintain part quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Edit and proofread CNC programs; sharpen tools as required.
• Maintain high quality while meeting production goals and deadlines.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive work environment.
• Uphold company policies, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency.
• Cross-train on various machines and processes to support team flexibility.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

CNC Lathe Machinist (JN -062026-423877) Fraser, Michigan

Salary: USD70000 - USD90000 per year

Our client, an Aerospace manufacturer in Macomb County has immediate openings on both 1st and 2nd shifts for CNC Lathe Machinists, $28-32/hour, THESE ARE NOT CONTRACT ROLES, YOU WILL BE HIRED DIRECTLY BY THE COMPANY.

The experienced CNC Lathe Machinists will independently set up and operate CNC lathes to precise tolerances and specifications. This role requires a high level of technical skill, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

You can expect to work an average of 50-55 hours/week, shift times are 5:30pm-5am and 6am-5:30pm, OT is paid DAILY after 8 hours!

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, adjust, and operate CNC lathes to produce parts of varying complexity.
