Job summary

IFABCorp in Gastonia, NC is seeking an experienced Laser Programmer to join our manufacturing team on-site. You will create and optimize CNC laser cutting programs and nesting layouts to produce precision sheet metal parts from engineering drawings and CAD files.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in CNC/laser programming, CAD/CAM experience, and familiarity with SigmaNEST, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks, and understands various laser systems such as Amada or Mazak.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in CNC programming, laser programming, or CAD/CAM programming.
• Experience creating CNC laser cutting programs and nesting layouts.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM or nesting software such as SigmaNEST, AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with CNC laser cutting equipment, such as Amada, Mazak, or similar systems.
• Strong ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and optimize CNC laser cutting programs using CAD/CAM software.
• Develop and optimize nesting layouts to maximize material utilization and minimize scrap.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD files, and technical specifications to create accurate production programs.
• Determine appropriate cutting sequences, tooling strategies, material types, and machine parameters based on part requirements.
• Prepare and release CNC programs and related production files for laser cutting operations.
• Review programs and conduct test runs or first-piece checks to verify dimensional accuracy and product quality.
• Troubleshoot programming issues and make adjustments to improve cutting quality, efficiency, and cycle times.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues and support production goals.
• Maintain accurate programming files, revisions, and related documentation.
• Follow established quality, safety, and production procedures.
