Job summary

Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing is seeking a detail-oriented Laser Programmer to join our team. This role uses CAD/CAM to turn drawings into production-ready programs for CNC laser cutting, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

You will review blueprints, nest parts to maximize material use, and collaborate with laser operators and production staff to meet schedules and quality standards. A degree is not required, hands-on experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with laser programming, CNC programming, or CAD/CAM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify CNC laser cutting programs using CAD/CAM and nesting software.
• Review customer drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure parts are programmed correctly.
• Nest parts efficiently to maximize material utilization and minimize scrap.
• Prepare programs based on material type, thickness, quantity, and production requirements.
• Review programs for accuracy before releasing them to production.
• Work closely with laser operators and production personnel to troubleshoot programming or cutting issues.
• Make program adjustments as needed to improve part quality, cutting efficiency, and material usage.
• Maintain organized programming files and part information.
• Help identify opportunities to improve programming and fabrication processes.
• Work with Production and other departments to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
• Follow all company quality and safety procedures.
