Job summary

TOPS Staffing in Petersburg, VA seeks an experienced Laser Machine Operator to run CNC laser cutting equipment on a 2nd or 3rd shift. Training on the daylight shift for about two weeks, then move to the assigned off shift; this is not entry-level and rewards experienced operators with strong earning potential.

You will read blueprints, load heavy steel, monitor production via the HMI, and ensure safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment or similar industrial machinery.
• Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC laser cutting equipment to process heavy steel plate.
• Load and unload steel with cranes or material-handling equipment.
• Monitor operation and adjust via the HMI.
• Read blueprints and shop drawings; measure parts for accuracy.
• Inspect finished parts and maintain a clean, safe production area.
• Follow production and safety procedures.
