Job summary

Conair in Franklin, PA is seeking a Laser Cutting Technician to set up, operate, and maintain CNC laser cutting systems for high-precision metal components. The role reports to the Fabrication Supervisor at our Franklin plant and requires hands-on experience with CNC laser equipment.

Responsibilities include loading programs, adjusting parameters, inspecting parts with precision tools, and maintaining safety and cleanliness on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent; technical certification or trade school training in machining or metal fabrication a plus.
• 2+ years hands-on experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment or in a fast-paced sheet metal fabrication environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, computer literacy, and familiarity with CNC programming, nesting, and blueprint interpretation.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills to troubleshoot failures and minimize downtime.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical stamina to lift heavy items and stand/walk for long periods.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Run CNC laser cutting machines, load cutting programs, and adjust parameters (focus, speed, gases) for different materials.
• Stage, load, and unload raw sheet metal and finished parts using cranes, forklifts, or vacuum lifts; manage raw material inventory.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, work orders, and production specs.
• Inspect finished parts with calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain a clean work area following safety rules and wear PPE.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure workflow and project completion.
