Job summary

Shibaura Machine Company of America is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, and service CNC machine tools at customer sites across a multi-state region. You will travel extensively (up to 90%), perform machine alignment and calibration, and provide remote support when needed, with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred or 3–5 years hands‑on CNC machine tool troubleshooting.
• Strong customer service and communication skills for client-facing support.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC ladder diagrams.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook for reporting and documentation.
• Willingness to travel up to 90% within a multi-state region; valid license and passport as needed.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to diagnose and resolve machine tool issues.
• Install and commission machine tools, including alignment and calibration.
• Perform preventive maintenance and recommend reliability improvements.
• Provide telephone and remote technical support when off-site.
• Complete service reports and diagnostics and relay feedback to engineering.
• Adhere to safety policies and support on-site training for customers.
