Job summary

Ilocatum is seeking a CNC Field Service Technician to support customers by maintaining and repairing CNC machine tools and ensuring peak performance. You will travel to customer sites in the region to install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, performing preventive maintenance and reporting on findings.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on CNC experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience repairing or maintaining CNC machinery.
• Experience with rotating machinery, spindles, and precision bearings.
• Strong understanding of CNC controls and basic electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail and technical accuracy.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant business software.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to be a ROAD WARRIOR with travel up to 25% throughout the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites throughout MN, WI, SD, ND and surrounding region to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tools, controls, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Utilize manuals, technical documentation, and internal/vendor support to troubleshoot complex problems.
• Clearly communicate equipment status, repairs, and recommendations to customers.
• Accurately complete and submit service and installation reports.
• Ensure customer commitments are met with a high standard of professionalism and technical excellence.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors, suppliers, and customers.
• Stay informed on new technologies and product updates through ongoing training and technical seminars.
• Maintain deep technical knowledge of all equipment lines represented by the company.
• Perform other duties as assigned
