Job summary

Ashton North LLC is seeking a CNC Field Service Technician to support customers by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining CNC machine tools across the Midwest region.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on CNC experience, work with rotating machinery, spindles, and CNC controls, and the ability to read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics. Travel up to 25% as a ROAD WARRIOR, while delivering professional service.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on CNC service experience.
• Experience with rotating machinery, spindles, and bearings.
• Proficient in reading electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
• Able to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites across MN, WI, SD, ND to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tools.
• Perform preventive maintenance and seek performance improvements.
• Diagnose issues in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Use manuals and vendor support to troubleshoot complex problems.
• Communicate equipment status and recommendations to customers.
• Accurately complete service and installation reports.
• Maintain professionalism and technical excellence with customers.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors and customers.
• Stay informed on new technologies and product updates.
• Maintain deep knowledge of all represented equipment lines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

We are partnered with an incredible CNC Machine Tool Distributor on their search for CNC Service Technicians! As a CNC Field Service Technician, you’ll play a critical role in supporting customers by maintaining and repairing CNC machine tools and ensuring equipment operates at peak performance.

Responsibilities:

• Travel to customer sites throughout MN, WI, SD, ND and surrounding region to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tools, controls, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Utilize manuals, technical documentation, and internal/vendor support to troubleshoot complex problems.
• Clearly communicate equipment status, repairs, and recommendations to customers.
• Accurately complete and submit service and installation reports.
• Ensure customer commitments are met with a high standard of professionalism and technical excellence.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors, suppliers, and customers.
• Stay informed on new technologies and product updates through ongoing training and technical seminars.
• Maintain deep technical knowledge of all equipment lines represented by the company.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience repairing or maintaining CNC machinery.
• Experience with rotating machinery, spindles, and precision bearings.
• Strong understanding of CNC controls and basic electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail and technical accuracy.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant business software.
• Valid driver’s license required and ability to be a ROAD WARRIOR with travel up to 25% throughout the assigned territory
• Comfortable interacting professionally under pressure with customers and colleagues.
