Job summary

Absolute Machine Tools, Inc. is seeking a CNC Field Engineer to install, service, diagnose, and repair complex CNC machinery at client sites across the Minneapolis/St. Paul region and beyond.

You will set up machines, troubleshoot multiple control frameworks, and train operators on safe operation and basic troubleshooting. The role requires hands-on experience with CNC hardware and controls, strong diagnostic ability, and willingness to travel; a valid driver’s license is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher in a mechanical/engineering field or related vocational program; associate degree preferred.
• Experience with industrial CNC machinery and automation systems; 3+ years preferred.
• Familiarity with FANUC, Mitsubishi, and Siemens CNC controls and basic electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic understanding.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain CNC machinery and automation equipment at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, software, and PLC issues to minimize downtime.
• Calibrate and tune new or relocated CNC machines per blueprints and specs.
• Prepare detailed service reports on status, parts used, and repairs performed.
• Travel within Minneapolis/St. Paul region and nationwide as required.
