Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Applications Engineer to support CNC programming for Swiss-type CNC lathes, install machines, and help customers optimize processes through training and technical support on-site on Long Island.

You will program, setup, and run CNC machines, perform prove-outs, time studies, and provide responsive technical assistance via phone, email, and visits, collaborating with sales and dealer networks.

Qualifications

• Experience with CNC machining, CNC programming, or applications engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, part drawings, and manufacturing documentation
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities
• Knowledge of CNC programming, machining processes, tooling, and shop mathematics
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed

Responsibilities

• Program, setup, and operate CNC machines
• Perform customer part prove-outs, demonstrations, and cycle time studies
• Develop machining processes and assist with tooling and equipment selection
• Train customers on machine setup, operation, and best practices
• Conduct in-house and customer-site machine demonstrations
• Provide technical support via phone, email, and on-site visits
• Support sales and dealer networks with technical evaluations and application reviews
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to improve customer productivity
