Job summary

Dynomax, Inc. designs and manufactures high-precision machined components and tooling since 1986. We are seeking an Applications Engineer to troubleshoot, calibrate, diagnose, and service CNC machines and their components, ensuring performance before returning to production.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC calibration equipment, schematics, and CNC control systems; strong communication skills are essential for supporting customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Proficient in CNC calibration equipment such as ball bar test equipment and diagnostic oscilloscopes.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in electronic machine control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of CNC controls and servo systems.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical schematics to determine service required of machinery.
• Test electrical/electronic systems in equipment to ensure compatibility and safety.
• Inspect electronic control systems to identify hazards or need for repair.
• Provide electrical/electronic support for equipment failure issues.
• Perform annual electrical maintenance tasks including calibrations and motor tuning.
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning systems and locate the cause of breakdowns.
• Analyze CNC diagnostic data to improve equipment functionality.
