Job summary

Morris Midwest, a division of Morris Group, Inc., seeks an Applications Engineer to bring CNC expertise to diverse projects and support cutting-edge machine tools. You will help customers solve manufacturing challenges and learn the latest technology in the industry.

This role involves programming CNC lathes and mills, pre-sale evaluations, cost estimates, and training customers on machine setups. Travel across the regional territory is required, and the position offers strong training and

Qualifications

At least 3 years of CNC machining experience.
Experience with Swiss and Okuma controls is a plus.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Esprit, SolidWorks) is desirable.

Responsibilities

Conducting pre-sale activities and reviews including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment and recommendations, part processing recommendations and development of turnkey proposals
Making accurate cost estimates, writing engineering reports, and interpreting plans and specifications
Programming and setting up CNC lathes, CNC vertical or horizontal mills, and Swiss style lathes
Developing/ implementing custom demonstrations and training customers in the safe set up and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss style lathes and/ or multi-tasking machines
Maintaining an in-depth technical knowledge of product lines represented by the company
