Job summary

Morris Midwest, a division of Morris Group, Inc., seeks an Applications Engineer to support CNC machine tools, tooling and programming software. You will bring hands-on machining experience, solve complex manufacturing challenges, and develop turnkey proposals for customers.

The role offers training, career growth and exposure to the latest technologies in the industry. Frequent travel within the regional territory is required and you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on machining background with at least 3 years of experience with CNC machines.
• Experience on Swiss and Okuma controls is a plus.
• Proven solid understanding of CAD/CAM software is vital.
• MasterCam, Esprit and Solidworks experience is a plus.
• Excellent customer service and effective interpersonal skills required.
• Frequent travel throughout our regional territory

Responsibilities

• Conducting pre-sale activities and reviews including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment and recommendations, part processing recommendations and development of turnkey proposals.
• Making accurate cost estimates, writing engineering reports, and interpreting plans and specifications.
• Programming and setting up CNC lathes, CNC vertical or horizontal mills, and Swiss style lathes.
• Developing/ implementing custom demonstrations and training customers in the safe set up and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss style lathes and/ or multi-tasking machines.
• Maintaining an in-depth technical knowledge of product lines represented by the company
