San Luis Valley Health is seeking a CNA to join the Med/Surg team in Alamosa, CO. The role includes cross-training to support Telemetry Tech duties and Ward Clerk tasks, under supervision providing routine patient care in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
• Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
• Strong problem solving and multi-tasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer call lights and provide direct patient care (bathing, oral hygiene).
• Serve and collect food trays; assist with feeding.
• Assist in ambulation and repositioning of patients.
• Take and record vital signs (pulse, temp, resp, BP).
• Document intake/output and other measurements as directed.
• Maintain clean equipment and restock supplies.
• Provide age-appropriate care with proper training.

San Luis Valley is seeking CNA's to join our Med/Surg team. This position will cross-train to provide support as a Telemetry Tech and Ward Clerk. Under supervision this position will complete routine duties in caring for hospitalized patients. Duties may vary depending on assigned area.

What You’ll Need:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current Basic Life Support certification
• Ability to communicate effectively, presenting information and responding to questions from patients, other staff members and groups of managers
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to move quickly and efficiently among various tasks

What You’ll Do:

• Answering call lights
• Direct care of patients including bathing and oral hygiene
• Servicing and collecting food trays and feeding patients requiring help.
• Assisting in ambulation of patients including turning and re-positioning patients
• Taking and recording patients vital signs; pulse, temperature, respiration rate, and blood pressure
• Recording fluid intake and outtake as directed
• Taking and recording, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates
• Cleaning equipment and re-stocking supplies
• Providing age appropriate care through proper training
