Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide routine nursing care under supervision. Start wage is $22.00 per hour, with increases based on experience, in Eureka, CA.

The role requires CNA certification or active enrollment and a minimum of 6 months CNA experience or clinical training within a CNA program. Responsibilities include resident rounds, feeding, hygiene, assisting with activities and therapies, and reporting concerns to the Charge Nurse.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in CNA program or hold CNA license
• Minimum 6 months CNA experience or clinical experience in program
• Excellent reading/writing/speaking English
• Able to interact tactfully with residents, family, staff and visitors
• Patience, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm in caring for residents
• Good general health and emotional stability
• Ability to relate to ill, elderly, and sometimes hostile residents

Responsibilities

• Perform duties per facility policies and safety rules
• Make rounds at start of shift and every two hours to provide quality care
• Verify resident ID before care or meals; report missing ID bands
• Make beds and keep rooms clean; serve water and assist in meals
• Assist with activities, therapies, transport and appointments
• Attend training and additonal duties as directed
