Job summary

Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin seeks a certified nursing assistant to support registered nurses with daily patient care, including bathing, feeding, mobility, and vitals documentation in the EMR. You will participate in admissions, transfers and discharges under supervision, assist with specimen collection and transport, and help maintain patient safety and comfort.

The role requires BLS within 45 days and a valid Nurse Aide credential, with GED/HSED or high school diploma as education

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills for EMR documentation and medication administration.
• Excellent oral and written communication with patients and staff.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities in a busy hospital setting.
• Certification Addendum and ongoing hospital certifications training are required.
• Team members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital-based certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily patient care such as bathing, feeding, mobility, and positioning.
• Measures and documents vitals and intake/output in EMR.
• Performs rounding and communicates patient/family needs to RN.
• Assists in admissions, transfers and discharges under RN supervision.
• Collects specimens and performs point-of-care testing as directed.
• Executes errands and maintains nursing area supplies and equipment.
• Assists with patient positioning and transport using proper technique and aids.
• Maintains skin integrity and provides supplies such as TED hose.
• Removes IVs or provides post-mortem care as directed by RN and unit requirements.
• Practices infection prevention with correct hand hygiene and PPE.
