Job summary

South Shore Rehabilitation and Nursing, a premier skilled nursing facility in Freeport, Long Island, has immediate openings for enthusiastic CNAs to join our dedicated staff. Weekend shifts available; under supervision you will provide direct nursing care to residents and support their comfort needs.

Qualifications

• Current NYS CNA Certification required.
• Previous Long Term Care experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promotes resident hygiene and comfort.
• Distributes food/water and feeds residents.
• Assists with repositioning and transferring residents.
• Ambulates and transports residents.
• Records and totals fluid intake and output.
• Weighs residents.
• Documents on flow sheets.
• Assists with admission, discharge and postmortem care.
• Responds to call lights in a timely manner.
• Performs perineal care and uncomplicated colostomy care.
• Reports all observations & assessments to the Team Leader/Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse.
• Takes and records vital signs.
• Makes beds and keeps resident’s units clean and in order.
• Prepares room for housekeeping after resident discharge.

Skill / Experience Requirements.
