Job summary

Aegis Therapies in Merrillville, IN is seeking a CNA/Wellness Instructor in Restorative Care to join our rehab therapy team. You will deliver wellness, fitness and exercise programs under supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation.

No restorative experience is required beyond CNA; onsite training provided. This full-time role offers up to 40 hours weekly with rotating weekends, and opportunities for career growth with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of wellness, fitness and exercise programming for seniors.
• Ability to deliver restorative wellness activities under supervision.
• Experience collaborating with therapy teams is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Director of Rehabilitation / Therapy and work with the therapy team to provide wellness and exercise programs.
• Receive full restorative training onsite; CNA certification required.
• Assist in restorative care of patients as directed.
• Perform exclusive restorative duties such as ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, ROM, dressing/grooming, splint/prosthesis care.

As a CNA/Wellness Instructor for Restorative Care, you will:

• Report to the Director of Rehabilitation / Therapy and work exclusively with the therapy team to provide knowledge and expertise in delivering appropriate wellness, fitness, and exercise programs.
• Receive full restorative training provided onsite. No restorative experience necessary, (CNA Certification Required)
• Assist in the restorative care of patients as directed.
• Exclusive restorative responsibilities (Ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active/passive range of motion, dressing/grooming, splint/prosthesis care) with limited or none of the “less desirable” tasks that often accompany a CNA position.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Current certification as Certified Nursing Assistant / CNA in state of practice
• Specialty certification as personal trainer, exercise specialist, fitness instructor, health and fitness specialist or similar area, preferred.
• Background in exercise and activity training with senior populations, preferred.
