Job summary

Aegis Therapies is hiring a Wellness Instructor in Restorative Care to join our Rehab Therapy Team at the Merrillville, IN facility.

As a CNA/Wellness Instructor, you will deliver wellness, fitness, and exercise programs under supervision, receive on-site restorative training, and assist in restorative care with patient-focused outcomes.

This full-time role offers weekend rotation, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities to grow within a nationally recognized rehabilitation provider.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Current certification as Certified Nursing Assistant / CNA in state of practice
• Specialty certification as personal trainer, exercise specialist, fitness instructor or similar, preferred.
• Background in exercise and activity training with senior populations, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Director of Rehabilitation / Therapy and work with the therapy team to deliver wellness, fitness and exercise programs.
• Receive full restorative training onsite; no restorative experience required other than CNA certification.
• Assist in restorative care of patients as directed.
• Perform exclusive restorative tasks such as ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, ROM, dressing/grooming, prosthesis care.

Job Type: Full Time. Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week, weekend rotating. Setting: Rehabilitation Center, Skilled Nursing Facility, Senior Care Wellness. Location: Merrillville, IN.

As a CNA/Wellness Instructor For Restorative Care, You Will

• Report to the Director of Rehabilitation / Therapy and work exclusively with the therapy team to provide knowledge and expertise in delivering appropriate wellness, fitness, and exercise programs.
• Receive full restorative training provided onsite. No restorative experience necessary, (CNA Certification Required)
• Assist in the restorative care of patients as directed.
• Exclusive restorative responsibilities (Ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active/passive range of motion, dressing/grooming, splint/prosthesis care) with limited or none of the "less desirable" tasks that often accompany a CNA position.
