Job description

Iron County Medical Center (ICMC) has an opening for a Part time- Day shift CNA for ER/Med-Surg.

Responsibilities:

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Must acknowledge and continuously demonstrate that the patient always comes first
• Must maintain positive, respectful and professional relationships with patients, co-workers and ancillary department personnel at all times
• Provide quality, compassionate patient care under the direction of charge nurse, RN, LPN and/or attending physician; perform other duties as directed by charge nurse
• Receive patients and visitors in a courteous, friendly, empathetic and efficient manner
• Keying and processing ER patient intake paperwork when needed
• Initiating and maintaining patient files and charts
• Must maintain confidentiality of patient records, discussions, and issues at all times
• Provide back-up assistance to Med-Surg and ER personnel as needed in either CNA or Registration Clerk capacity as well as to business office and medical records employees
• General office duties as assigned time allowing

Skills and Abilities:

Required Education, Knowledge and Skills:

• High school graduate with CNA and BLS certification
• Computer skills necessary in the day-to-day duties, both with EMR and Microsoft
• Strong interpersonal skills with friendly, positive attitude necessary to succeed in team environment
• Good prioritization and organizational skills
• Ability to key a minimum of 50 wpm
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience is desired; EMR experience preferred
• Passion for caring for patients and compassion for patients
• Must demonstrate a respectful and positive attitude at all times
• Must be able to multi-task, exercise good judgment, be dependable, and capable of independently carrying out assigned tasks and day-to-day duties efficiently, effectively, and courteously
