Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an approved phlebotomy training program.

Responsibilities

• Performs all duties and responsibilities according to the CNA job code and department procedures.
• Handles laboratory data collection to ensure tests are properly ordered, cancelled, and charged.
• Correctly identifies patients to avoid mistakes that affect treatment.
• Performs blood collections from patients, mostly older age group.
• Performs specimen processing, preparation and distribution of specimens.
• Maintain infection control and safety policies.
• Communicate with patients and staff politely and accurately document information.
• Orders and maintains laboratory supplies.
• Keep work areas clean and stocked.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Coordinate with lab manager on lab issues.
• Work independently and in a team environment.
• Comply with OSHA, CLIA, and federal regulations.
