Avera Spencer Hospital is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant to support patient care in Spencer, IA. You will assist with grooming, feeding, and daily tasks, while maintaining a clean and safe patient environment.

The role requires CNA certification and active nurse aide registry, with BLS certification or willingness to obtain it on hire. Shifts are 12 hours, rotating days/nights, with weekend requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be a caring communicator; able to multitask and be comfortable with technological systems.
• CNA certification and nurse aide registry required.
• BLS certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire; in-house education available.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal needs for patients: grooming, am/pm care, shaving, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, bedside glucose testing, and specimen collection.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and therapeutic patient environment.
• Transports and restocks supplies related to patient care.
• Maintains and communicates patient information and records.
• Prepares and maintains medical records and charts for admission, transfer and discharge.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and protects medical records.
• Transcribes physician orders under supervision of licensed nurses.
• Floats to high-need departments as needed.
