Job summary

Good Samaritan is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide resident-centered care during weekend shifts in Mountain Lake, MN. The role supports daily living activities under RN supervision and contributes to a safe, caring environment for seniors.

The position is part-time with weekend hours and requires CNA certification or active enrollment in a CNA program. Benefits include health and retirement options, with training provided by the facility.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred but not required.
• Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Required CNA certification with State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months by enrollment in a training program or in process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
• CNA training and certification required and provided by facility.
• Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains continuing education credits (min. 12 hours annually).
• Applicable states: registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry if required.
• May classify as Sanford Category II Driver requiring motor vehicle report and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and meal support.
• Record vital signs and document resident interactions and care outcomes.
• Follow infection prevention and PPE policies and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Assist with transferring, repositioning, and walking using proper techniques.

Education

GED or high school diploma

Minimum age 16

Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification

CNA training and certification provided by facility

Continuing education 12 hours per year

UAP Registry (where applicable)

Sanford Driving Policy – valid driver’s license
