Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Cotting School | $25–$27 per hour, based on experience

Join Cotting School’s Health Services team and help students feel safe, comfortable, and supported throughout their school day. We serve students ages 3–22 with intensive special needs in a caring, collaborative school community.

As a Medical Assistant or CNA, you will work closely with registered nurses, faculty, staff, and families to support students’ health and personal care needs. This hands‑on role is an opportunity to build meaningful relationships while helping students participate in school life.

What you’ll do

• Provide direct personal care and assist students with their daily care needs.
• Escort students to and from classrooms.
• Collaborate with registered nurses to support student care.
• Communicate with the school team to help maintain a safe, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant.
• Experience working with people with disabilities is a plus.
• Ability to safely lift students weighing up to 50 pounds with appropriate assistance.
• A compassionate approach and a commitment to working as part of a team.

Work schedule

This position follows the school calendar and includes our five-week summer session: 180 school days and 25 summer days.

School-year hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Wednesday: 8:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m.

Summer-session hours:

July 12–August 13: 8:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

Expected paid hours: approximately 30 per week.
