Job summary

Morehouse General Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support nurses and deliver direct patient care. Under RN/LPN supervision, you will assist with ADLs, monitor vitals, and help ensure quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced inpatient setting.

We value teamwork, strong communication, and commitment to patient dignity. Twelve-hour shifts include days, nights, weekends, holidays, with opportunities for career growth and continuing education.

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana CNA certification in good standing.
• BLS certification required or obtained within the required timeframe.
• Previous hospital, long-term care, or healthcare experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong observation and organizational abilities.
• Compassionate, dependable, and committed to delivering outstanding patient care.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living under RN/LPN supervision.
• Measure and record vital signs, height, weight, and intake/output.
• Assist patients with ambulation, transfers, positioning, and ROM exercises.
• Observe and promptly report changes in patient condition to the licensed nurse.
• Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record when applicable.
• Follow infection prevention protocols and hospital safety policies.
• Promote patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
• Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
