Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking a Nursing Support Assistant (CNA) to support patient care on 5NW Hospital Medicine. Working under RN supervision, you will perform basic care, monitor patients, document activities, and assist with daily living activities during night shifts onsite at Hyde Park.

The role requires a high school diploma, HCWR certification, CPR/BLS, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. You will work full-time 0.9 FTE with night shifts; benefits and equal opportunity employer statements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• IDPH HCWR listing as Illinois CNA or nursing student who passed the written competency exam.
• CPR/BLS Certification.
• Ability to read and write, perform basic calculations, follow instructions, and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift and move objects and patients as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including vital signs and simple tests.
• Assist with activities of daily living using proper infection control.
• Assist with personal hygiene, ambulation and nourishment.
• Collect specimens and assist with patient measurements.
• Aid in discharge and transfer preparation.
• Maintain patient environment and room readiness.
