Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) to provide safe basic care to patients, take vital signs, and assist with activities of daily living. You will document patient information and collaborate with the care team to ensure continuity of care.

The role is hourly with a $2.25/hour third shift differential. Expected pay is $18.98-$22.34/hour, and actual pay is determined by experience and equity.

Qualifications

• CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant as required.
• CPR certification per AHA HealthCare Provider BLS is required.
• High School Diploma or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe basic patient care including taking vital signs and assisting with activities of daily living.
• Record pertinent information in patient charts and communicate with care team.
• May supervise patients as needed and support continuity of care across departments.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant
• CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Experience
• 6 months experience in a clinical healthcare environment
• 6 months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
