Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) to provide basic patient care, monitor vital signs, and support daily activities. The role involves recording data in charts and coordinating with the care team to ensure continuity of care.

The position is hourly with a pay range of $18.98-$22.34 per hour and a $2.25/hour differential for 3rd shift, with actual pay determined by experience and internal equity.

Qualifications

• CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant is required.
• CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS is required.
• 6 months experience in a clinical healthcare environment is preferred.
• 6 months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and provide safe basic patient care.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Collect specimens and observe patients for physical/emotional changes.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.
