JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington, IL is seeking dedicated Hospice CNAs to join our growing team. This PRN role offers 12-hour shifts (7AM-7:30PM), a competitive starting wage up to $26/hour, and a path to comprehensive benefits.

As a Hospice CNA-IPU, you will work under a registered nurse, observe and report patient needs, assist with personal care, and help ensure safety and comfort on the unit. A valid state aide registry and reliable transportation are required.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report patient conditions and document care performed.
• Assist with personal care needs including bathing, grooming, and hygiene.
• Ensure safety and comfort of patients on the unit and use of equipment properly.

• List on the state aide registry with a clear record able to deliver care to patients
• 18 years of age unless state law dictates otherwise
• Valid driver’s license with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state requirements or reliable transportation preferred

What You’ll Do:

• The Hospice CNA-IPU (Certified Nurse Assistant – Inpatient Unit) works under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient’s personal comfort needs at the unit.
• The CNA is responsible for observing the patient, reporting these observations, and documenting observations and care performed.
• Performing personal care needs after given a patient’s assignment and attending to his/her requests promptly.
• Meeting safety needs of patient and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, O2 etc.)
• Giving personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed lined as often as assigned
• Reporting on patient’s condition and significant changes. Also aware of the caregiver or other individuals visiting with the patient and interpersonal issues
• Adhering to the organization’s documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct
