Job summary

Preferred Care at Absecon in New Jersey is hiring a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to provide vital daily care in inpatient and long-term settings.

You will support nursing staff, observe Residents, assist with personal hygiene, meals, and mobility, while maintaining confidentiality and dignity.

State CNA certification required; experience in fast-paced environments and with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in inpatient settings or long-term care preferred.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology is essential.
• Experience with individuals who have developmental disabilities or behavioral health challenges is advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, including ICU settings if required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to help others.
• State certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) is required.

Responsibilities

• Observing Residents.
• Reporting any health issues to the supervising nurse.
• Taking care of a Resident's personal hygiene, including bed bath, shaving etc.
• Setting up of meal trays, and documenting food/fluid intake.
• Feeding Residents & serving nutritional supplements.
• Making beds & keeping the Residents' space clean and tidy.
• Transporting Residents within the Facility.
• Turning bedridden residents to prevent bedsores.
• Maintaining Confidentiality of all Resident & Facility data.
