Job summary

Duke University Health System in Durham, NC is seeking a Nursing Assistant I to support direct patient care under RN/LPN supervision. The role involves assisting with basic care, data collection, and unit coordination, while upholding patient dignity and safety.

You will participate in essential nursing tasks, document care in the health record, and help with admissions, discharges, and transportation as needed. This position includes a 3 x 12 hour night shift with weekend option nights.

Qualifications

• NA I credential and BCLS certification required by orientation
• Ability to perform basic care, assist with non-direct patient care and geriatric or acutely ill patients
• Ability to document and communicate patient care using electronic health records

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and equipment for procedures and provide manual assistance
• Take and record vital signs and input/output data
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care for patients
• Support RN/LPN in patient care and unit coordination
• Maintain patient environment and stock supplies
• Follow safety and infection control policies and procedures
