Job summary

Senior Helpers of Virginia Beach is seeking compassionate CNAs to join our home-care team. In this role you’ll provide hands-on care, companionship, and support that helps seniors live safely at home.

We offer competitive pay between 17 and 19 USD per hour, mileage reimbursement, flexible scheduling, 401(k), Aflac benefits, training, and career growth. Applicants must have Virginia CNA certification, CPR/BLS, valid driver's license, and be able to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia CNA certification is required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Excellent communication and compassion for seniors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, bathing, grooming, and hygiene.
• Support mobility, transfers, and daily tasks.
• Prepare meals, assist feeding, monitor intake.
• Provide companionship and reduce isolation.
• Keep home environment clean, safe, and organized.
• Follow infection control protocols and PPE guidelines.
• Document care provided and report changes.

What You’ll Do

• Personal Care: Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene
• Mobility Support: Help with safe transfers, repositioning, and movement
• Meal Assistance: Prepare meals, assist with feeding, and monitor intake
• Companionship: Provide emotional support and reduce isolation
• Home Environment: Keep spaces clean, safe, and organized
• Safety & Health: Follow infection control protocols and PPE guidelines
• Documentation: Record care provided and report any changes or concerns

What You Bring

• Active Virginia CNA certification
• High school diploma or equivalent and age 18+
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Valid driver’s license & insurance or reliable transportation
• Proficient smartphone use for scheduling and care documentation
• Strong communication skills (bilingual is a plus)
• Physical ability to assist clients with mobility and perform daily tasks
• A team-first mindset and a genuine passion for helping others
• Ability to pass background check, DMV check, and drug screening
• Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and proficient smartphone use
