Job summary

Florence School District Three seeks a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide direct health care to a medically fragile student within the school day. You will work under the RN and collaborate with educators to promote health, safety, and inclusive education.

Requirements include SC CNA certification, CPR/First Aid, and the ability to document care accurately. Prior school health experience is preferred; the role emphasizes dignity, independence, and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Current South Carolina CNA certification in good standing.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or able to obtain upon hire.
• Experience caring for medically fragile students or individuals with complex medical needs preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one care for a medically fragile student according to IHP/IEP/504 plans.
• Assist with activities of daily living (toileting, feeding, hygiene, mobility).
• Safely lift, reposition, and transfer students with appropriate equipment.
• Monitor and document student condition, report changes to RN and administration.
• Assist with prescribed nursing tasks under RN supervision and district protocols.
• Maintain equipment, supply inventory, and sanitation; follow universal precautions.
