Job summary

Central Bucks High School South seeks a full-time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide 1:1 direct care for medically fragile students in the MDS classroom. You will assist with feeding, toileting, positioning, and daily living activities under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent; CNA training and competency exam are preferred. CPR/AED training or CBSD program certification may be pursued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a state-approved CNA Training program and passing competency exam to become certified (preferred, not required).
• CPR/AED training or CBSD's Professional Rescuer CPR/AED/First Aid Certification program may be pursued.
• Must possess knowledge and have experience in seizure first aid and precautions, aspiration precautions and operation of medical devices (e.g., Hoyer lift, wheelchairs).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to medically fragile students in the MDS classroom, 1:1 with health-related needs.
• Assist with feeding, toileting and personal care as required.
• Assist with positioning, ambulation and transferring between wheelchairs or adaptive equipment.
• Obtain vital signs and support activities of daily living.
• Work under direction of a licensed nurse (RN or LPN) and perform duties within CNA scope of practice.
