Job summary

Hospice of Marion County, a member of Empath Health, is seeking a caring CNA Field to work in Marion County, providing compassionate end-of-life care.

This part-time role is 24 hours per week with 12-hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, from 8am to 8pm. You will assist patients with daily living activities, mobility, and comfort while adhering to infection control procedures and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Six months of CNA experience in hospital or long-term care preferred.
• Florida CNA licensure required; valid Florida Driver's License.
• Current BLS CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver physical care to patients, including bathing, feeding, and assistance with ambulation and transfers.
• Reinforce dressings and follow infection control procedures and Standard Precautions.
• Perform light housekeeping in patient areas and restock supplies.
• Educate families and caregivers on care needs and disease processes.

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 8am to 8p on Saturday and Sunday, part-time 24 hours a week.

What You'll Do

• Deliver physical care to patients, including bathing, changing linens, feeding, assisting with ambulation and transfers, and supporting range-of-motion exercises and positioning.
• Reinforce dressings as needed and adhere to infection control procedures and Standard Precautions against Bloodborne Pathogens.
• Perform light housekeeping duties in patient areas, including laundry, trash disposal, meal preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, disinfecting equipment, and replenishing supplies.
• Collaborate with other Hospice team members to educate primary caregivers and families regarding physical care, disease processes, and emotional support for patients.

What You'll Need

• Experience: Six months of experience as a CNA in a hospital or long-term care skilled nursing facility preferred. A letter of recommendation from an instructor may be requested for candidates with no prior job experience.
• Licensure:
  • Valid Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA License).
  • Valid Florida State Driver's License.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certification.
