Job summary

Hospice of Marion County, a member of Empath Health, seeks a caring CNA to provide direct patient care across Marion County. The role requires 12-hour shifts (8am–8pm) on Saturdays and Sundays, with PRN coverage as needed.

Must have Florida CNA license, valid driver's license, and BLS CPR certification. Six months of CNA experience preferred; CEU support and tuition assistance are offered by the broader Empath Health network.

Qualifications

• Six months of CNA experience in hospital or long-term care preferred.
• Current Florida CNA license is required.
• Valid BLS CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide 12-hour care to patients (bathing, linens, feeding, ambulation, transfers).
• Reinforce dressings and follow Standard Precautions for infection control.
• Perform light housekeeping in patient areas and restock supplies.
• Educate caregivers and families on care needs and disease processes.

Hospice of Marion County, a member of Empath Health, is seeking a caring and motivated CNA Field to work with us in Marion County while providing exceptional care.

Since 1983, Hospice of Marion County has been honored to serve families across Ocala and Marion County with compassionate, expert end-of-life care. As part of Empath Health, we help neighbors with advanced illness live as comfortably and meaningfully as possible, while supporting their families and caregivers with respect, guidance, and dignity.

Schedule:

12-hour shifts, 8am to 8p on Saturday and Sunday, PRN

What You'll Do

• Deliver physical care to patients, including bathing, changing linens, feeding, assisting with ambulation and transfers, and supporting range-of-motion exercises and positioning.
• Reinforce dressings as needed and adhere to infection control procedures and Standard Precautions against Bloodborne Pathogens.
• Perform light housekeeping duties in patient areas, including laundry, trash disposal, meal preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, disinfecting equipment, and replenishing supplies.
• Collaborate with other Hospice team members to educate primary caregivers and families regarding physical care, disease processes, and emotional support for patients.

What You'll Need

• Experience: Six months of experience as a CNA in a hospital or long-term care skilled nursing facility preferred. A letter of recommendation from an instructor may be requested for candidates with no prior job experience.
• Licensure:
  • Valid Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA License).
  • Valid Florida State Driver's License
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certification.
