Job summary

Essential HealthCare Solutions, LLC seeks Florida-certified CNAs to provide hands-on basic care and shelter support during hurricane activations in Southwest Florida. You will work under RN direction, assisting with ADLs, monitoring, and ensuring occupant comfort and safety.

These on-call deployments may last 24 hours to 14 days, with 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends. Prior disaster-response experience and FEMA NIMS training are preferred; flexible deployment is offered.

Qualifications

• Active Florida CNA certification — required
• Current BLS/CPR certification — required
• Ability to pass a background screening
• Availability to deploy on short notice and work extended 12-hour shifts in shelter/field conditions
• Preferred: FEMA NIMS (IS-100/200/700/800); bilingual a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide basic care under RN direction — vital signs, activities-of-daily-living (ADL) support, and patient comfort
• Assist the nursing team with screening, monitoring, and patient movement
• Support setup, stocking, and organization of the shelter medical station
• Track and help maintain medical-supply and PPE inventory; flag replenishment needs
• Observe and report changes in occupant condition to the RN promptly
• Assist with infection-prevention practices — hand hygiene, PPE, cleaning and disinfection
• Help maintain shift logs and supply-usage documentation
• Support the clinical team with general non-clinical tasks as directed during activations
