Job summary

Essential HealthCare Solutions, LLC is seeking Florida-licensed Registered Nurses to deliver on-site care at employee shelters during hurricane and severe-weather events in Southwest Florida. This PRN/temporary role involves activation-based, 12-hour shifts with meals and lodging provided during qualifying deployments.

You will screen, triage, and treat shelter occupants, coordinate with EMS and hospitals, and lead on-site LPNs and CNAs while maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring

Qualifications

• Active Florida RN license required.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS preferred.
• Ability to pass a background screening.
• Practice only within Florida RN licensure scope.
• Availability to deploy on short notice for 12-hour shifts.
• Preferred: prior emergency, shelter, or field-medical experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct medical screening and health assessments of shelter occupants; evaluate non-emergency illnesses and injuries; assess fitness-for-duty concerns.
• Provide basic medical care — first aid, vital-sign monitoring, and management of minor illnesses and injuries — per standing nursing protocols.
• Triage medical complaints, determine level of care, and coordinate referrals to urgent care, hospital, or EMS; document triage decisions.
• Respond to on-site medical incidents within five minutes and provide emergency nursing care until EMS assumes care.
• Monitor for heat illness, dehydration, fatigue, infectious-disease concerns, and mental-health stress indicators.
• Direct on-site LPNs and CNAs and coordinate with EMS, hospitals, emergency management, and safety personnel.
• Escalate serious incidents promptly to Cooperative management and EHS leadership.
