Job summary

CaroMont Health in Gastonia, NC is seeking a Nursing Assistant I to support patient care under a licensed nurse. You will perform delegated activities within approved policies to ensure standards of care are met on the unit.

In this role, you will handle clerical tasks, assist with communications among patients, visitors, nursing staff, and the health care team, helping to promote efficient operations and a positive patient experience on the unit.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of Nursing Assistant I classes and NC Nurse Aide I registry eligibility.
• High School Diploma or equivalent, or to be obtained within 18 months of hire date.
• Skill in dealing tactfully with patients, staff, physicians and visitors.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, lab tests, basic grammar, and computers.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Perform delegated activities per approved policies and department scope.
• Contribute to standards of care on the patient, unit and team.
• Perform clerical and related duties on the assigned unit.
• Facilitate communication among patients, visitors, nursing staff and health care team.
